Tomato Garlic Pasta

Tomato Garlic Pasta is a simple, flavorful Italian-inspired dish featuring fresh tomatoes and aromatic garlic tossed with perfectly cooked pasta for a quick and satisfying meal.

  • 8 oz spaghetti or your choice of pasta
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups fresh tomatoes, diced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ¼ cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
  4. Add the diced tomatoes, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tomatoes break down and create a sauce.
  5. Toss the cooked pasta into the skillet with the tomato garlic sauce. Mix well to combine and heat through.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the fresh chopped basil.
  7. Serve immediately topped with grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine to the sauce or top with toasted pine nuts before serving.
