Homemade Texas Roadhouse Seasoned Rice

Texas Roadhouse Seasoned Rice is a flavorful and aromatic side dish featuring perfectly cooked rice tossed with herbs and spices, inspired by the beloved steakhouse flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup long grain white rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
  2. In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
  3. Add the rice, butter, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper to the boiling water.
  4. Stir once, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
  5. Remove the saucepan from heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes.
  6. Fluff the rice with a fork and stir in fresh parsley if desired before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, try cooking the rice in chicken broth instead of water or adding a squeeze of fresh lemon juice before serving.
