Steakhouse Potatoes Romanov

Steakhouse Potatoes Romanov are crispy, golden-brown skillet potatoes seasoned with garlic and herbs, perfect as a hearty side dish to your favorite steak or grilled meats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the cubed potatoes and parboil for 5 minutes until just tender but not fully cooked.
  2. Drain the potatoes and let them dry thoroughly.
  3. Heat the butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Add the potatoes in a single layer and cook without stirring for about 5 minutes to develop a crispy crust.
  5. Turn the potatoes carefully and continue cooking for another 7-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are golden and crispy on all sides.
  6. Add the minced garlic, thyme, and rosemary during the last 2 minutes of cooking. Stir to coat and cook until fragrant.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired.
  8. Serve hot alongside your favorite steak or grilled meat.

Notes

For extra richness, finish the potatoes with a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese or serve with a dollop of sour cream.
