A Delicious Bowl of Spicy Cranberry Salsa

This vibrant spicy cranberry salsa is the perfect holiday appetizer or topping. Tangy cranberries meet a kick of jalapeño for a sweet and spicy flavor explosion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey or agave nectar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, pulse the cranberries until coarsely chopped. Be careful not to over-process them into a paste.
  2. Transfer the chopped cranberries to a medium bowl.
  3. Add the red onion, jalapeño, cilantro, lime juice, honey (or agave), and cumin to the bowl.
  4. Stir well to combine all ingredients.
  5. Season with salt to taste.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  7. Serve chilled with tortilla chips, grilled chicken, or fish.

Notes

For a milder salsa, remove the seeds and membranes from the jalapeño. You can also add a pinch of cayenne pepper for extra heat!
