Shrimp Cheddar Pie is a savory, cheesy pie combining tender shrimp with sharp cheddar in a flaky crust, perfect for a comforting dinner or special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pie crust (9-inch, pre-made or homemade)
  • 1 lb cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 ½ cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté onion until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the cooked shrimp and Old Bay seasoning. Cook for 2 minutes, then remove from heat.
  5. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, and milk until smooth.
  6. Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and spread the shrimp mixture evenly over the crust.
  7. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the shrimp layer.
  8. Pour the egg and cream mixture over the filling, making sure it is evenly distributed.
  9. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and chopped parsley if using.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown.
  11. Let the pie cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, add a splash of hot sauce or a pinch of cayenne pepper to the filling; serve with a fresh green salad for a balanced meal.
