Homemade Rosemary Garlic Mashed Potatoes

These Rosemary Garlic Mashed Potatoes are incredibly creamy, flavorful, and comforting. Infused with fragrant rosemary and savory garlic, they’re the perfect side dish for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  2. While the potatoes are cooking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and rosemary sprigs and cook until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash the potatoes with a potato masher or ricer.
  4. Stir in the garlic-rosemary infused butter, heavy cream, and milk until smooth and creamy.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Remove rosemary sprigs before serving.
  7. Garnish with chopped chives, if desired.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, try roasting the garlic cloves before adding them to the butter. This will give the mashed potatoes a richer, sweeter garlic flavor.
