Freshly baked garlic bread on white plate

Garlic Bread is a warm, flavorful side dish made with crusty bread, butter, and fresh garlic, perfect for complementing Italian meals or as a tasty snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf of French or Italian bread
  • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the bread loaf in half horizontally.
  3. In a bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and salt until well combined.
  4. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
  5. If using, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  6. Place the bread on a baking sheet, buttered side up.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, until the edges are golden and the butter is melted.
  8. For extra crispiness, broil for an additional 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  9. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, then slice and serve warm.

Notes

Serve garlic bread warm alongside pasta dishes or salads. For a spicy twist, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the butter mixture.
