  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons matcha green tea powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, matcha powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in the white chocolate chips, if using.
  7. Drop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers remain soft.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a richer latte flavor, try adding a teaspoon of instant coffee granules to the dough or drizzle the baked cookies with white chocolate glaze.
