Maple Glazed Brussel Sprouts Perfection

These Maple Glazed Brussels Sprouts are a delightful side dish, perfectly balancing the slight bitterness of the sprouts with the sweet and savory notes of maple syrup and balsamic glaze. Roasted to tender perfection, they’re a flavorful and healthy addition to any meal.

  • 1.5 lbs Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Spread Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  4. Roast for 20-25 minutes, or until tender and slightly browned, flipping halfway through.
  5. While the Brussels sprouts are roasting, whisk together maple syrup, balsamic vinegar, and Dijon mustard in a small bowl.
  6. In the last 5 minutes of roasting, remove the baking sheet from the oven and pour the maple glaze over the Brussels sprouts, tossing to coat evenly.
  7. Return to the oven and roast for another 5 minutes, or until the glaze is sticky and caramelized.
  8. Remove from oven and garnish with chopped pecans or walnuts (optional).
  9. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the maple glaze.
