  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • For the Pecan Layer:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chocolate Layer: In a medium bowl, combine chocolate wafer crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9-inch pie plate.
  2. Prepare the Pecan Layer: In a large bowl, whisk together brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, corn syrup, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  3. Stir in the pecan halves.
  4. Assemble and Bake: Pour the pecan mixture over the chocolate layer in the pie plate.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 45-55 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown. If the crust starts to brown too quickly, cover the edges with foil.
