Korean BBQ Beef is a flavorful and tender grilled dish marinated in a savory-sweet sauce, perfect for a delicious dinner with authentic Korean flavors.

  • 1 lb thinly sliced beef ribeye or sirloin
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp mirin (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, green onions, sesame seeds, black pepper, and mirin to create the marinade.
  2. Place the thinly sliced beef in the marinade and mix well, ensuring all slices are coated.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to penetrate the meat.
  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Grill the marinated beef slices for 2-3 minutes on each side until cooked through and slightly caramelized.
  6. Remove from heat and let rest briefly before serving.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with additional green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

For an enhanced experience, serve with steamed rice and kimchi or wrap the beef in lettuce leaves with a dab of spicy ssamjang sauce.
