Heart-Shaped Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, salt, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Gradually blend in the flour mixture.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips evenly.
  7. Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  8. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out cookies and place them on prepared baking sheets.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
  10. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
