Spooky Halloween Cookie Cake

Celebrate Halloween with this giant, spooky-sweet cookie cake! It’s perfect for parties and decorated with all your favorite Halloween candies.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Halloween-themed sprinkles
  • 1 cup assorted Halloween candies (M&Ms, candy corn, chocolate chips, etc.)
  • 1 container (16 oz) vanilla frosting
  • Orange and black gel food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 12-inch pizza pan or round baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Stir in the Halloween sprinkles and candies.
  7. Press the cookie dough evenly into the prepared pan.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
  9. Let cool completely in the pan before frosting.
  10. While the cookie cools, divide the frosting into bowls and tint with orange and black gel food coloring, if desired.
  11. Frost the cookie cake and decorate with additional Halloween candies.
  12. Slice and serve!

Notes

For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of Halloween spice blend to the cookie dough. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a decadent treat.
