Ground Turkey Teriyaki Rice Bowl

This flavorful Ground Turkey Teriyaki Rice Bowl features tender turkey cooked in a savory homemade teriyaki sauce, served over steamed rice and topped with fresh veggies for a wholesome meal.

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 2 cups cooked jasmine rice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 cup diced carrots
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 cup steamed broccoli florets
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger to create the teriyaki sauce.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook ground turkey until browned and cooked through, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  3. Add diced carrots to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until slightly tender.
  4. Pour the teriyaki sauce over the turkey and carrots, stirring to combine and heat through.
  5. If you prefer a thicker sauce, stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in chopped green onions and steamed broccoli.
  7. Serve the teriyaki turkey mixture over warm jasmine rice.
  8. Garnish with sesame seeds and additional green onions if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a fried egg on top or customize with your favorite vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas.
