This gooey chocolate cake is a rich, decadent dessert that melts in your mouth with a perfectly fudgy center and a lightly crisp exterior.

  • 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Melt chocolate chips and butter together in a microwave or double boiler until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  3. Whisk sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract in a bowl until combined.
  4. Slowly add melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture, stirring continuously.
  5. Fold in flour and salt until just combined.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes until the edges are set but the center remains gooey.
  7. Allow cake to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
