Rich and fudgy double chocolate chip cookies combining cocoa and chocolate chips for an irresistible dessert treat.

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips evenly.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until cookies are set around the edges but still soft in the center.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra indulgent touch, sprinkle a little sea salt on top of the cookies before baking to enhance the chocolate flavor.
