Alfredo Sauce

A rich and creamy Alfredo sauce made with butter, cream, and Parmesan cheese, perfect for tossing with pasta or drizzling over vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, but not browned.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  5. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in chopped fresh parsley if desired.
  7. Serve immediately over cooked pasta, vegetables, or your favorite dish.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream, or add cooked chicken or mushrooms to the sauce for a heartier meal.
