Cotton Candy Fudge

Indulge in a sweet treat with this easy Cotton Candy Fudge recipe. This whimsical dessert combines the nostalgic flavor of cotton candy with the rich creaminess of fudge for a melt-in-your-mouth experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, cut into cubes
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (7 ounce) jar marshmallow creme
  • 1 teaspoon cotton candy flavoring
  • Pink gel food coloring (optional)
  • Blue gel food coloring (optional)
  • Sprinkles, for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
  2. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine sugar, butter, evaporated milk, and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves and the butter is melted.
  3. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil, stirring constantly. Continue to boil for 5 minutes, stirring continuously to prevent burning.
  4. Remove from heat and immediately stir in marshmallow creme and cotton candy flavoring until smooth and completely combined.
  5. If desired, divide the fudge mixture into two bowls. Add pink food coloring to one bowl and blue food coloring to the other. Gently swirl the colors together in the pan for a marbled effect, or keep them separate for distinct layers.
  6. Pour the fudge into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  7. If desired, sprinkle with sprinkles while the fudge is still soft.
  8. Let the fudge cool completely at room temperature, about 2-3 hours, or refrigerate for faster setting.
  9. Once the fudge is set, use the parchment paper overhang to lift it out of the pan. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

For a stronger cotton candy flavor, use cotton candy flavored sugar crystals instead of granulated sugar. Store the fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
