  • 30 ounces frozen shredded hash browns, thawed
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 can (10.75 ounces) condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 pint (16 ounces) sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the thawed hash browns, melted butter, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, salt, pepper, onion, and 1 1/2 cups of the shredded cheddar cheese. Mix well until everything is evenly combined.
  3. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  4. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
  5. Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
  6. Let stand for a few minutes before serving.
