Cinnamon-Swirled Cookies

Delight in these soft and buttery Cinnamon-Swirled Cookies, featuring a warm cinnamon sugar swirl perfect for an afternoon treat or dessert.

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until creamy and smooth.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Roll out the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the dough.
  8. Carefully roll the dough into a log, sealing the edges.
  9. Slice the log into 1/2-inch thick cookies and place on the prepared baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  11. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding a sprinkle of powdered sugar on top before serving or dip half of the cooled cookie in melted dark chocolate.
