  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for sprinkling)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth and combined.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and 2 teaspoons cinnamon.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until fully incorporated.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  7. Mix the granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon together and evenly sprinkle on top of the batter.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

For extra texture and flavor, fold in 1/2 cup chopped nuts or white chocolate chips before baking.
