This Christmas Morning Quiche is a savory and festive dish featuring a flaky crust filled with eggs, cheese, and holiday-inspired ingredients, perfect for a joyful breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pie crust (9-inch, store-bought or homemade)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled breakfast sausage
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh spinach
  • 1/4 cup diced red bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the pie crust in a 9-inch quiche or pie pan and prick the bottom with a fork.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté onion and red bell pepper until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until fully combined.
  4. Spread cooked sausage, spinach, sautéed onion, and bell pepper evenly over the pie crust.
  5. Sprinkle shredded Gruyère cheese on top of the fillings.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the fillings, filling the crust almost to the top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until the quiche is set and the top is lightly golden.
  8. Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, omit the sausage and add mushrooms or roasted tomatoes. Serve warm with a side of fresh fruit or a light salad.
