Chocolate Blossom Cookies

Delightfully soft chocolate cookies topped with a vibrant red chocolate kiss, perfect for festive occasions or satisfying your sweet tooth.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 48 red chocolate kiss candies

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet, mixing until just combined.
  6. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place them 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until cookie edges are set but centers are still soft.
  8. Immediately press one red chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
