A quick and flavorful Chinese Beef Broccoli Stir-fry featuring tender beef slices and crisp broccoli tossed in a savory garlic-soy sauce, perfect for a nutritious weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup beef broth or water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine sliced beef with 1 tbsp soy sauce, cornstarch, and black pepper. Mix and let marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add marinated beef and stir-fry until browned and nearly cooked through, about 2-3 minutes. Remove beef and set aside.
  3. Add remaining 1 tbsp oil to the pan. Stir-fry minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until bright green and slightly tender.
  5. Return beef to the pan, then add oyster sauce, remaining soy sauce, beef broth, sugar, and sesame oil. Toss everything together and cook for another 2 minutes until sauce thickens slightly and beef is cooked through.
  6. Remove from heat and serve immediately with steamed rice if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor and crunch, garnish with toasted sesame seeds or chopped green onions before serving.
