Cheesy Green Bean Casserole Delight

This cheesy green bean casserole is a delightful twist on a classic holiday side dish. Packed with tender green beans and a creamy, cheesy sauce, it’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser!

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/3 cups French fried onions, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a large pot, steam green beans until tender-crisp, about 5-7 minutes. Drain well.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, and pepper.
  4. Stir in the green beans and 1/2 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Pour the mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Top with the remaining cheddar cheese and 2/3 cup French fried onions.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes, or until heated through and bubbly.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining French fried onions over the casserole and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until golden brown.

Notes

For an extra layer of flavor, add a sprinkle of garlic powder to the green bean mixture before baking. You can also use different types of cheese like Gruyere or Monterey Jack.
