Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce leaves (optional)
  • Tomato slices (optional)
  • Ketchup and mustard (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, bread crumbs, milk, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty.
  4. Place the patties into a baking dish and bake for 20 minutes.
  5. Remove the baking dish from the oven, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of each patty.
  6. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Toast the hamburger buns if desired.
  8. Assemble the baked cheeseburgers by placing each patty on a bun, then top with lettuce, tomato, ketchup, and mustard as preferred.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For a juicier burger, let the patties rest for 5 minutes after baking before serving; try adding pickles or caramelized onions for extra flavor.
