This classic Broccoli Cheese Casserole is a comforting and easy side dish or main course. Tender broccoli florets are baked in a creamy, cheesy sauce for a crowd-pleasing favorite.

  • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped broccoli, thawed and drained
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine broccoli, cream of mushroom soup, mayonnaise, egg, cheddar cheese, onion, and pepper.
  3. Pour mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. In a small bowl, combine melted butter and bread crumbs. Sprinkle over the top of the casserole.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use sharp cheddar cheese. You can also add cooked ham or bacon for extra protein.
