Chocolate Chip Cookies

Classic chocolate chip cookies with a perfect balance of crisp edges and chewy centers, ideal for any sweet craving or snack time.

  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup (165g) packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups (340g) semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl; gradually blend into the butter mixture.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips evenly.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are nicely browned.
  8. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For extra softness, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking or add a sprinkle of sea salt on top before baking to enhance flavor.
