A quick and flavorful beef stir fry loaded with fresh vegetables and a savory sauce, perfect for a healthy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1/2 cup snap peas
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the beef slices and season with salt and pepper. Stir-fry until browned and just cooked through, about 3-4 minutes. Remove beef from skillet and set aside.
  3. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon oil to the skillet. Sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  4. Add bell pepper, broccoli, carrot, and snap peas. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until vegetables are crisp-tender.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet and stir to combine with vegetables.
  6. Pour in soy sauce, oyster sauce, and hoisin sauce. Stir well to coat all ingredients.
  7. Add the cornstarch slurry to the skillet and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  8. Remove from heat. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot with rice or noodles.

Notes

For extra heat, add a teaspoon of chili flakes or fresh sliced chili peppers while stir-frying the vegetables.
