Apple and Cranberry Grilled Cheese

A delightful twist on classic grilled cheese featuring crisp apples and tangy cranberries for a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread (white or whole wheat)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 small apple, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh or dried cranberries
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional)

Instructions

  1. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, on a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Layer each with 2 slices of cheddar cheese, sliced apple, and cranberries.
  4. If desired, drizzle honey over the apples and cranberries for added sweetness.
  5. Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side up.
  6. Grill each sandwich for 3-4 minutes per side or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  7. Remove from skillet, let cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding a sprinkle of cinnamon to the apples or a handful of arugula for a peppery bite.
